I am pleased to announce the publication of General Records Schedule (GRS) Transmittal 35. It is now available on our website at https://www.archives.gov/records-mgmt/grs.html

This transmittal includes revision to six previously issued schedules:

  • GRS 2.2 Employee Management Records
  • GRS 2.3 Employee Relations Records
  • GRS 2.4 Employee Compensation & Benefits
  • GRS 2.6 Employee Training
  • GRS 5.4 Facility, Equipment, Vehicle, Property, and Supply Records
  • GRS 5.6 Security Management Records

All revisions are to make disposition instructions machine-implementable. There are also some revisions for clarity. Please see the transmittal memo for further details about each schedule.

Along with this transmittal we are also issuing revised Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) for individual GRS. The FAQs have been updated for clarity and readability.

An updated GRS CSV file is also available on our machine-implementable GRS website

Agency responsibilities:

  • Agency Records Officers must disseminate the revised GRS within their agencies no later than December 16, 2024.
  • If your agency intends to use agency-specific schedule items instead of any new or revised items issued in this transmittal, including agency-specific items previously approved as deviations to the revised GRS items, you must inform us at [email protected] by October 14, 2024. You will need to provide the agency-specific schedule and item numbers as well as the related GRS items. If you require more time to submit a GRS notification, please email the GRS Team prior to the due date.

For more information, please see the GRS web page. If you have any questions about the GRS, please contact [email protected].
